Accounting Manager

Department: SUPPORT CENTER
Location: Ammon, ID

Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting, including journal entries, month end closing, general ledger maintenance, and bank and balance sheet reconciliations. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budgeting, and accounting.†
  • Supervises and participates in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.†
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of accounting records to show receipts and expenditures.†
  • Directs the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, depreciation, cost, property, and operating expenses, and insurance records.†
  • Directs and participates in cost analyses and rate studies.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.†
  • Directs internal audits involving review of accounting and administrative controls.†
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems.†
  • Coordinates preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting.†
  • Reviews financial statements with management personnel.
  • Directs the installation and maintenance of new accounting, inventory, property, and other related procedures and controls.
  • Supervises and directs activities of accounting department.

  • Bachelorís degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Supervisory experience preferred.†
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP accounting and compliance.
  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced), Word PowerPoint, Outlook, POS, Accounting ERP databases.
  • Ability to analyze and create data models that can be clearly articulated to senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, strong knowledge of Excel and databases.
